The meeting was attended by representatives of centres from Poland, Germany, Romania and Spain. Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa was represented by the Methane Drainage and Management Office. The first day was devoted to formal issues, while the following day was a site visit to the Barbara Experimental Mine.
The project entitled 'Reduction of methane from the ventilation air of coal mines in the process of transformation' is co-financed by the Coal and Steel Research Fund. ProVAM has a research and development character. Its objective is the comprehensive development of assumptions and guidelines for the utilisation of VAM and subsequent trials under the conditions of the Barbara Experimental Mine in order to develop a concept for application in coal mines.
